As a single mom, I've learned that survival often depends on my ability to come up with indoor games and activities that keep my kids engaged! They enjoy helping me cook or bake, which is a good opportunity to teach them about ingredients, measurements, and of course, hygiene and safety in the kitchen.
We also play board games, puzzle solving, and sometimes I set up scavenger hunts around the house with clues tailored to their interests, which they love! Arts and crafts are a big hit too, though my patience is often tested during these times, haha! I've learned to embrace the mess and provide lots of encouragement because it's amazing what creativity and imagination can sprout from these sessions.
On really rainy days when we're stuck indoors, I might break out the bubble wrap and bubbles for some sensory play, or we'll grab our sleeping bags and have a movie marathon with flashlights under the blankets - that always feels like an adventure!
