That's an excellent strategy to keep a list of your kids' good moments! I love it because it's practical, purposeful, and positive. I think we often get tunnel vision with the challenges that we face and forget all the sweet moments that make it all worthwhile - definitely a great way to appreciate them and keep some perspective.
I'm also jotting down your meal prep idea - that's something I struggle with as my kids are fussy eaters, so any tips on quick, one-pot meals would be welcome!
As for me, besides the standard self-care practices which are so important -- eating well, exercise, and sleep (ha!) -- I find creating a special 'mom' space helps me recharge. I have a corner in my bedroom with essentials like my diffuser, relaxing oils, and a cozy chair for some much-needed 'me time'. It's like my sanctuary within the chaos and helps me to feel grounded when the going gets tough. I also make it a point to take individual time outs when the kids are asleep - often just 10 minutes to journal, meditate or read something encouraging. Sometimes, if I'm particularly frazzled, I'll take a long, relaxing shower and that's my 'reset' button!
I also love connecting with other parents because, as you said, it's nice to know we're not alone in our experiences - whether online or with close friends.
