You have some interesting twists to the decision-making process!Your methods are straightforward yet effective, especially the pros and cons list which is a personal favorite of mine too.
I also agree that stepping away and creating some physical distance can help with clearer thinking. There's a reason why going on a short walk or changing environments is a recommended strategy when faced with difficult decisions. It adds fresh air and perspective, quite literally!
Now, that's some clever thinking on your part about the toss-and-turn method for minor decisions. It's amazing how our instincts can kick in when we give ourselves some physical and mental space.
For bigger and more complex decisions, I find that setting a deadline helps me commit to a choice. Giving myself a time limit forces some much-needed urgency and focus. Otherwise, I might keep analyzing the situation endlessly which exhausts more than enlightens.
And sometimes, when all else fails and I'm really stuck, I resort to a straightforward coin toss! It's a symbolic gesture, but it helps me mentally prepare for either outcome and see the silver linings in each situation.
Those are my additional two cents on decision-making, but I suspect there may be some other quirky and insightful strategies out there!
I must try the deadline method sometime; it sounds like a good discipline especially for indecisiveness. Reminds me of the old adage about opportunity knocking only once.
The coin toss is a fun and simple way to decide on the small stuff, but I imagine some may find it too arbitrary for big choices! It's surprising how many ways there are to arrive at decisions.
Have you come across any other quirky or unusual tactics out there that actually work?
