That sounds really scary! Brakes are such an important safety feature; I'd have expected the manufacturer to take immediate action. Good on you for sharing your experience; I'm sure other parents will take note! It's a real shame when companies don't react well to these situations. I had a much milder issue, but with a different company, I needed to contact them about a missing part and their response was super slow. Eventually got the replacement part after some prodding, but it took far too long. Some parents may not have the privilege of time, so this sort of delay is really not cool.
