What products did you find most helpful during pregnancy and beyond?

I'm curious to hear about the items that got you through those first few months - especially the unexpected heroes!

For me it was definitely my body pillow, which I bought after weeks of restless sleep. A total godsend and still comfy now, even though baby is 6 months old! Also shout out to my adjustable waist preggo jeans - they've got so much use, and are still so comfy now I'm back in the office.

What were/are your maternity essentials?

The must-have on my list would have to be a good baby carrier; it allowed me to keep my hands free while keeping baby close and comfortable. I could finally enjoy a stroll outside without worrying about pushing a bulky stroller over curbs and up stairs!

Having a portable changing pad also proved invaluable - it meant I could discreetly change my little one wherever and whenever, without having to hunt for an appropriate changing table or risk germs from public ones. Definitely a hero item in the early days!

Those are some great picks and baby essentials right there - functional, practical, and convenient, especially for new moms who are always on the go! I'd also recommend a nursing shawl for breastfeeding mamas, offering a discreet and comfortable feeding experience wherever you are. And maybe a compact stroller that's lightweight and easy to maneuver - looks like it'd be right up your alley! These products really can simplify motherhood and make our lives so much easier.

Those are awesome suggestions! Anything that can help make mom life a little less stressful is a win in my books. I've heard great things about nursing shawls - so convenient for breastfeeding mamas to have that extra privacy and ease. And yes, a lightweight stroller is definitely on my radar too - it would be a fantastic option for running errands or exploring the city!

Any other product recommendations that make motherhood a breeze? I'm all ears!

Nappy/diaper bags with lots of compartments are a saviour - you can stay super organized and have everything at hand, especially when you're out and about.

A baby carrier is another must-have for me. It's a godsend for days when your little one just wants to be held all the time, you can still get things done without straining your arms and back. Plus, hands-free baby wearing is a win! There are so many styles and kinds out there, you're bound to find one that suits you.

I also love my portable baby sound machine. It's small and easy to carry, which helps create a soothing environment for nap time wherever you are. White noise machines are a life hack for getting babies to sleep, especially when you're not at home and the surroundings can be quite stimulating.

And of course, no list is complete without the humble pacifier! A must-have for soothing little ones and keeping them calm. There are some cute designs out there too, which add a bit of fun.

So many great ideas - I'm making notes here!

I agree that diaper bags with lots of pockets are so useful, especially for storing all the little things you need quick access to. Keeps everything organized and within reach - moms will know this is a godsend when you're managing a thousand other things too!

The portable baby sound machine is one of those items that you don't realize how handy they are until someone mentions them. Creating a familiar, peaceful environment for babies to rest anywhere is so important for us moms to catch a break too!

The humble pacifier - a true classic and often overlooked! Sometimes it's the simplest solutions that work the best and offer some peace and quiet.

Are there any other surprises or essentials I should know about? All these products are making me excited for my next baby! But first, I better stock up on these useful items for my current tot.

Some other surprising essentials could be a good Baby Carrier/Sling - great for keeping your hands free and your baby close and content. They're a godsend when you're out and about or doing chores around the house.

Also, a nosey/snot sucker! It's not glamorous but it is SO useful and something you'd probably Underestimate the need for until you have one - it's a lifesaver when your little one is stuffy and uncomfortable.

And of course, don't forget the importance of a good stroller that's easy to maneuver and collapse down. A smooth and compact stroller can make all the difference during those quick errands or long strolls in the park!

These are such great suggestions! I'd also add a baby monitor to the list - especially one with an audio/video feature so you can keep an eye on your little one when you're in different rooms. It's such a help for keeping an eye on them while giving you some freedom to move around too.

Also, agree 100% about the stroller! A smooth ride and easy fold is a must - especially if you often find yourself rushing around with it or want to be able to pop it in the boot of your car easily. x

Definitely agree on the baby monitor! The peace of mind they give is everything, and being able to see as well as hear is such a help. And yes, a stroller with an easy fold mechanism is a godsend - makes life so much simpler! x

the convenience of some of these products really cannot be underestimated when you're dealing with a new baby. You never know what you might need until you're actually in the situation!

The baby monitor is such a great idea - being able to keep track of bubs while giving them some independent playtime is so important for mums to stay sane! And yes, strollers can really vary in terms of quality and ease of use - definitely an investment piece.

Any other unexpected discoveries that made your parenting journey easier? I feel like we're curating quite the list here!

Some of these products are truly baby essentials and lifesavers!

I never thought I needed a portable changing mat until I had to change my baby's diapers on the go. It's so much more hygienic than risking public changing tables and gives you peace of mind too. Also, car seat accessories like mirrors that let you see your rear-facing baby can be handy - no more turning around to check if they're safe and sound!

Little snacks or treats are another thing to keep in your mommy arsenal. Keeping up your energy levels is important, especially during those exhausting first few months. Having some healthy bars or bites tucked away in your bag can make a big difference when you're running on empty.

Also worth mentioning is a good nursing bra for breastfeeding mamas. It's such a comfort to have good support and easy access! There's so much thought that goes into these things - it's a whole new world!

Oh yeah, the portable changing mat is such a simple yet effective product! So compact and handy for on-the-go diaper changes.

I never thought of car seat accessories like mirrors - that's an innovative way to keep an eye on your little one! Safety and comfort are priorities, but it's also the little things that can make a big difference.

Snacks are a great idea too - for energy and sanity! It's so true that parenting throws you into a whole new world. You never realize how much goes into it until you're in it!

Some other products I found helpful as a new mom were the wearable baby carrier and the pop-up crib. The carrier kept my hands free so I could get things done around the house or run errands while comforting the little one. It was especially useful when travelling - navigating stairs, getting on and off public transport, or even just managing crowds became way easier!

The pop-up crib was a lifesaver for sleepovers at grandma's or vacation trips. It provided a familiar and comfortable space for my child and assembled in seconds, which was a major plus when you're already dealing with the challenges of a new environment.

And I agree on the snacks comment! Always have a stash of energy bars or fruits handy - they're healthy and keep your energy up during those demanding mom moments. You never know when your next meal will be!

Totally agree on the carrier and portable crib! They really come in handy when travelling, especially if you're often on the go like me. I found that having a lightweight stroller was also a godsend - quick to assemble and easy to maneuver through crowds or tight spaces. And of course, having a compact and versatile diaper bag which didn't scream 'I'm a mom' was an added bonus! Something stylish yet functional - with space for my things too - was perfect for when I wanted to stay hands-free but also look presentable.

And snacking on the go is definitely important - I always keep energy bars/dried fruits in my bag these days, you never know when hunger pangs will strike!

the right tools can make all the difference - like an instant outfit booster! Quite exciting too, preparing and planning for this new role. Can't wait to execute the mama-bear look effortlessly! Haha.

There's a certain excitement and thrill in finding these helpful products Something that makes you go, "Ah, this is going to make my life easier!" And you're right; it's fun preparing for this new role, making those thoughtful purchases for your little one.

On that note, have you guys come across any duds or disappointments? Products that looked great online but didn't cut the cord in real life? Might save some mums-to-be some money and effort if we shared these!

There were a few products that didn't work out so well for me. I found that the fancy, adjustable high chair I'd seen online wasn't as practical as I thought. It was bulky and a pain to clean - not very beginner-friendly, to say the least. Also, cute as they may seem, those small cotton swaddle wraps did nothing to keep my child asleep any longer than usual. He grew out of them quickly too, so they weren't very cost-effective.

I'd much rather swear by the goodness of simple Muslin cloths - versatile and a breeze to clean! Sometimes, the simplest solutions are the best. They can be used as burp cloths, nursing covers, lightweight blankets, etc. You discover that some things are overhyped while others are underrated gems.

I feel you on the high chair! I ended up getting a basic, no-frills model that's been amazing. So easy to wipe down and store away.

Muslin cloths have also been a lifesaver for me too. They're so versatile and helpful for so many different situations. I use them as burp cloths primarily but having them around has been such a relief when accidents happen - which they often do!

It's amazing how some of the most straightforward solutions are the best and most underrated. Some products are definitely overdesigned and end up being more hassle than they're worth.

I completely agree - sometimes the simplest designs work best! I'll add muslin cloths to my list; they sound like a real multi-purpose staple every mum should have. It's reassuring to hear your thoughts on your high chair too, I'm definitely going to go for a practical and minimalistic option now - why do we need all these fancy products that just end up being more work?!
