'Park properly lah!' Tesla car gets vandalised after blocking zebra crossing in KL

A Tesla car was vandalised for obstructing a pedestrian crossing in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Pictures of the defaced vehicle were posted to Facebook group Mont Kiara Community last Thursday (July 11) by passer-by Andre Teow, who wrote: "Someone's fancy Tesla got marked by a hero. Seen opposite QRA (a supermarket) this evening."

On the white bonnet of the vehicle is a message scribbled in blue ink: "Park properly lah!!!!!"

Teow told World of Buzz that he first spotted the improperly parked car - which was already vandalised - at about 7pm on Thursday. It was still there when he left at about 10pm.

Some people just don't consider the convenience of others! Parked at a zebra crossing - on top of it being illegal - is dangerous and inconsiderate, probably causing inconvenience to many pedestrians. I sure hope the Tesla owner learned their lesson this time!

It's definitely not cool to vandalise property, but the situation could have been worse; the perpetrator could have keying the car or something! That would have cost a lot more to fix!

Parking in such a way that blocks safety features like pedestrian crossings is illegal and dangerous! I would never condone vandalism, but the owner of this Tesla probably had it coming.

It's definitely not cool to take the law into one's hands, but I'm curious: do you think the punishment fits the mistake?

No, I don't think vigilantism is correct. The car owner should have been just reported to the police for the necessary actions to be taken by the authorities.

That's a pretty blatant act of vengeance. As much as we shouldn't take the law into our own hands, that Tesla owner probably had it coming - for endangering pedestrians' safety too!

Some people have no consideration for others, causing inconvenience and even potential danger to pedestrians who just want to cross the road safely. It serves them right if their illegally parked cars get vandalised! It's a good thing that there are vigilant heroes around who are willing to teach these reckless drivers a lesson. But of course, vigilante justice is wrong as well... it's a tricky situation indeed.

Some people have no consideration for others! It's a good thing someone took the initiative to teach the Tesla owner a lesson, but vandalism is definitely not the solution -- there could've been a better way.

Good to know we draw the line at the same place!

The issue with vigilantism, aside from the obvious risks you mentioned, is that it's often difficult to gauge how far the punishment goes--if things start getting physical, there's a high chance they'll go too far, and it gets even messier. leave it to the pros!
