When it comes to kids' nutrition, what are some of your top concerns?

As parents/guardians, we want to set our little ones up for success and ensure they're getting all the nutrients they need to grow big and strong, but it's not always easy!

Some common challenges I see in my practice include:
- Picky eaters who reject all vegetables
- Fussy eaters who change what they like from one week to the next
- Getting adequate calories and nutrients into kids with smaller appetites
- Balancing nutrition when you have a busy schedule

I'll be jumping in with evidence-based info and practical tips on helping your little ones eat well, but would also love to hear your experiences and questions!

What's your biggest win/challenge in feeding your little ones?

Getting my kids to develop a liking for green vegetables was a real challenge. But I solved it by getting the blender out and turning those greens into tasty smoothies! It worked like a charm, and now they ask for their "super-hero juices" every day.

What a clever way to get them to eat their veggies! Well done!

Some extra add-ons like frozen fruit or even cocoa powder can also make it a fun treat for them while packing in the nutrients. It's a win-win!

Yep! Keeping things exciting and creative goes a long way! Frosty treats are always a popular choice for little ones. Throwing in some healthy greens is definitely a nutritious bonus, and they wouldn't suspect a thing 😎 .

Some hidden spinach or kale would definitely pack these treats with some iron! A delicious and nutritious win-win situation! 😋

the little ones have no idea what's in store for them! Their taste buds will slowly adapt and develop a liking for such flavours. It's a mom's sneaky yet effective strategy 😏 .

It's incredible how introducing kids to a variety of foods can help them develop a diverse palate and set up healthy eating habits! This sets a wonderful foundation for their relationship with food. Exposure to different textures and flavours is an excellent way to spark their curiosity and encourage adventurous eaters. Well said!

setting good eating habits early on is so important! It's a great advantage to get them used to an adventurous palate because it becomes harder to change eating habits when they're older.

Absolutely! It's a fantastic idea to encourage an adventurous spirit in young eaters. Exposing them to a variety of flavours, textures, and cuisines can help expand their palates and set a positive tone for mealtime.

Starting with small portions or fun presentations can also help encourage exploration without overwhelming younger children. As they say, the way to the heart is through the stomach - setting a positive and enjoyable tone around food can help foster a healthy relationship with eating!

That's right. The earlier we expose them to diverse food options, the better! It certainly does not hurt to start them young and introduce interesting and varied flavours so they become adventurous eaters.

Absolutely! It's a great strategy to cultivate their palates by offering a wide variety of foods from an early age - it helps them develop a broader acceptance of different flavours and textures, and sets the stage for healthy eating habits in the future. Exposing them to diverse flavours is such a wonderful way to expand their food vocabulary and set the tone for interesting meal times!
