I've found that total silence is one of the best ways to ensure I maximize my nap. Earplugs are a godsend when it comes to blocking out any annoying noises and letting me plunge into deep sleep. If not, complete darkness and a cool, comfortable temperature in the room would be ideal. No fancy music needed, though sometimes a simple rain sound app on my phone does the trick too.

I am glad you've found what works best for you. For me, it's total silence; otherwise, I'll be awake at the smallest of noises. And like you, I also prefer the coolness of the room. It really helps me relax and, after some time, naturally drift into sleep.
