Maternity Essentials

All worth it -- and so exciting!

I found that preparing a list of essential items helped me stay organized, and gave me peace of mind as I ticked things off. My maternity essentials were:
1. Comfortable clothes - loose dresses, leggings, and tops to accommodate the changing shape.
2. Nursing bras and feeding gear - these are important for ease and comfort later on.
3. Newborn essentials like napkins, wipes, creams, and diapers. Stock up, because you don't want to run out at an inconvenient time!
4. A comfortable and spacious baby carrier or sling - great for hands-free moments and bonding too.
5. Car seat and stroller - essential for getting around.

There's a lot more you can add, but these were my top must-haves for the early days. What are your essentials on the list?

Great list! I'd also recommend:

- A few packs of reusable breast pads, and if you're planning to pump, a double electric pump.
- Newborn nails can be sharp! Some nail clippers designed for tiny nails are helpful.
- Waterproof mattress protectors - never know when there might be an accident! Great for keeping the peace of mind too, when you've got a new little one at home.
- A lightweight baby health book to jot down appointments and milestones is always handy.

Those are some great suggestions!

A few extra pairs of reusable breast pads are definitely a must-have, especially for the first few weeks. A double electric pump is a fantastic idea for mums who plan to pump - it's a real timesaver!

Newborn nail care is easy to forget about but so important; tiny nail clippers would be a wise addition to the maternity bag.

Waterproof mattress protectors are a thoughtful and practical idea - perfect for unexpected accidents, especially in those first few weeks of bringing bub home.

A lightweight health book is a lovely way to keep on top of appointments and track milestones. It's amazing how fast time flies and it's wonderful to look back on those early days!
