Wow! That sounds like a very intense yet fulfilling experience. I've heard that natural births can be really rewarding but also challenging. Would love to hear the details of your birth tale!
It was nothing short of exhilarating and scary at the same time!
I had always dreamed of having a natural water birth, so when contractions started, I was excited yet nervous. The contractions were bearable, so we headed to the hospital.
Being admitted into the labour ward was daunting. I labored in the shower for what felt like forever, and with each contraction, I'd grasp the handles above me, eyes squinted shut, moaning low. My husband kept encouraging me, timing contractions, making sure I drank fluids, and keeping the atmosphere light with gentle humor.
When I asked for the birthing pool, the midwives smiled and said it was a good idea. The warm water was soothing, and I felt a sense of calm as the contractions became more intense. I started chanting "open, open, open" with each surge, focusing on my breathing.
It was a long seven hours before I finally felt the urge to push. With no time for an epidural, I pushed through two contractions, feeling an immense burning sensation.
And then, there he was - crying, slimy, and so very wrinkly! They placed him on my chest, and the relief was immense. I had done it - naturally!
Looking back, it was a wild ride, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat. That proud feeling of conquering the unknown, coupled with the awe of holding your new little person, is indescribable.
