Healthy Pregnancy Hacks

Amidst morning sickness, doctor's appointments, cravings, and nest-building, expectant moms may have a lot on their plates!
Mothers really do deserve extra credit for everything they juggle during pregnancy, don't they? It's a joyous yet demanding time.

Yes, it's easy to agree that mothers deserve some extra pampering and support, especially when the going gets tough during pregnancy. The demands of carrying a child are numerous, and it's an emotionally and physically challenging period in any mother's life.

the physical changes and hormone fluctuations can take a toll, and many moms-to-be appreciate some special care and attention. I used to have a hard time sleeping due to hip pain during my pregnancy. My solution was to get several pillow extensions that I could adjust to prop up various body parts, including my huge bump! It really helped me get comfortable in bed and took the pressure off my hips. I also started sleeping with an eye mask and some noise-canceling earphones - this blocked out any unnecessary stimuli and helped me get some much-needed rest.

Are there any other useful hacks on this topic that anyone would like to add?

I used essential oils to relieve some of my pregnancy discomfort. Lavender oil, diluted with some aloe vera gel, became my go-to fragrance during my last trimester. It seemed to help me relax and prepare for bedtime, along with some deep breathing. The smell was soothing and helped me unwind emotionally too.

That sounds like a lovely relaxant. I'll keep that in mind should the need arise!

Simple yet effective I also made some changes to my diet, incorporating more snacks with healthy fats and proteins as recommended by my doctor. It helped with the constant cravings and kept me and the baby energized throughout the day.

I found that eating smaller meals frequently helped with the dreaded pregnancy heartburn. The sour taste of candied ginger helped settle my upset stomach too.

Another tip I have is to keep a supply of reusable cold packs in the freezer, those that you'd use for injuries. They can help reduce swelling in your feet and ankles, which can be a common issue later in pregnancy. Some women find them soothing against their back aches too.
There's so many little challenges that come with pregnancy; it really takes a village to get through it!

That's a great tip about the cold packs! I've heard of some ladies swearing by compression socks for that issue, but the cold packs sound refreshing, especially in our tropical weather.

Yes, I've tried the compression socks too and they helped a lot with my tired and heavy legs. These hacks are really helpful, thank you ladies!
