I try to break tasks down into manageable segments too - otherwise, it's easy to feel swamped by the never-ending parental to do list! I find ticking things off gives me a sense of achievement and keeps me going, but also make sure to schedule some fun activities we can all look forward to, like visits to the park or swimming - that way it feels like there's a nice balance and everything doesn't seem so samey. Keeping some variety seems to help with momentum! Would be interested to hear other people's tips too, especially for those with younger kids - I have a 4 year old so am always on the lookout for new ideas!
