As an adult returning to school, one of the biggest challenges is time management and organization given our other commitments. I find creating a detailed weekly schedule, which accounts for my class time, study sessions, work hours, and family/personal time, helps me stay on track and feel more in control.

I also make it a point to set aside specific blocks of time each week for certain tasks like catching up on readings or working on assignments, and try to stick to them religiously! It's also beneficial to have a physical calendar or planner that you can visually refer to, especially if you're a visual learner. Color-coding helps too - it makes things more fun and is a great visual reminder.

It's definitely tricky but certainly manageable with the right tools and mindset. Would love to hear others' strategies for staying organized and their tips on balancing school, work, and family life!

I'm so glad you shared this! I totally agree that creating a structured routine and sticking to it is key. Especially with other commitments, having a visual, colour-coded schedule to refer to helps make sure everything gets managed without double bookings or last-minute realizations.

I also find setting specific blocks of time for specific tasks works wonders - the trick for me has been to be realistic about how long things take and then allocate either slightly more or less time accordingly. I keep a running list of the approximate times for various tasks so I can better estimate future blocks.

It's also helped me to think of school as a full-time job. That mental shift has helped me prioritize it and block out dedicated time. Using a physical calendar, which I can visually plan with some personal time bookended at the beginning or end of the day, has made a big difference too!

Having a structured routine and considering school as a full-time job definitely helps one stay committed and present! It's impressive how you've found what works best for you despite your varied commitments.
