We've had great success with a "Think and Pair" icebreaker, especially with larger groups. You essentially ask participants to think individually for a minute or two about a specific question or prompt related to the workshop content, then ask them to find another person in the room who had a similar response.

Those who are shy can be encouraged by the facilitator to explain why they agreed, which opens up discussions and connections between attendees with shared perspectives. It's amazing how much more engaged everyone is after this simple icebreaker - giving people a quick win and an instant connection with at least one other person in the room.

For longer workshops, it's also beneficial to have a few 5-minute "activity breaks" every hour or so to keep everyone refreshed and focused. These can include simple but interactive games like Charades or short physical activities like a quick stretching routine.

These strategies, in addition to the general setup of interactive workshops with group discussions and hands-on exercises, have really boosted participation and kept the energy high!
