Unicorn here!
I've always dreamed of a VBAC and today my dream came true.
After two previous cesareans, my doctor supported my decision to attempt a vaginal birth for my third pregnancy - but it had to be in the hospital with continuous monitoring due to past complications.
Contractions began early Thursday morning. They were manageable so we headed to the hospital around midday and I labored through them until 4cm dilated. Things progressed slowly over the next eight hours, then stalled. But my water broke spontaneously at 10pm and things started moving again!
With each contraction, I felt my body doing what it was supposed to - the pain was intense but manageable. Then came the most surreal moment as I felt the head crowning. My doctor helped guide my little one out - and she finally arrived, healthy and crying, in my arms.
After two cesarean births, hearing that cry and knowing she was okay is a feeling I can't describe. It brings tears to my eyes now! My beautiful rainbow baby girl is here, and she's perfect.
3 hours later, I'm snuggled in bed with her while hubby sleeps in the chair beside us. We're both recuperating well, and beyond in love.
