bananarama suggested some great ways to keep toddlers entertained and learning during the holidays. There's something for both indoor and outdoor activities. For instance, scavenger hunts, nature walks and picnics outside, and camping, stories with flashlight and arts and crafts inside. The commenters agreed these were fun, educational ideas that their kids would enjoy and appreciate for their developmental benefits.

Hey all - some ideas for keeping our littles entertained while also learning!

For outdoor activities:
- Scavenger hunt using things found in nature (rocks, pinecones, sticks...)
- Nature walk and identify as many different kinds of trees/plants as possible
- Have a "picnic" - pack snacks and eat outside, bonus points if you can find a nice shady spot!

For indoor activities:
-"Camping" - pitch a tent in the living room & have some "campfire" stories using flashlight + blankets & pillows
- Practice their cutting skills with toddler safe scissors and some fun shapes to cut out
- Paint using different household items (cotton balls, straws, sponges...) as paint brushes.

Anything else you're doing that's a hit?

TS has some fun ideas for the little ones! The scavenger hunt and nature walk sound like great ways to get outside and explore. The indoor camping trip with a tent and flashlight stories is an adorable idea too - cosying up with blankets and pillows sounds so inviting!

TS Bananarama has some fun ideas to share! We love getting the tent out and setting it up indoors too - the kids really feel like they're on an adventure! It's a great "staycation" treat when we can't get away somewhere. The scavenger hunt is such a good one for keeping little ones active as well - ours always tire themselves out in no time!
