It's a great idea to instill healthy eating habits at an early age - after all, prevention is better than cure!
What are some ways we can get kids interested in nutritious foods and teach them about the importance of a balanced diet?
Some ideas:
1. Get them involved in food prep - kids are more likely to eat something they've had a hand in making themselves. It also teaches them important life skills!
2. Grow your own vegetables or herbs, or even visit a local farm. Seeing where their food comes from is an eye-opening experience for little ones and can help them appreciate the hard work that goes into farming.
3. Create a 'fun, healthy plate' - make meal times fun by creating animal shapes with their food or adding colourful vegetables.
4. Teach them about the benefits of each food group - explain why we need fruits and veggies, whole grains, protein-rich foods etc. A simple way to do this is by using online resources like charts or apps aimed at kids.
What other creative ways have you seen to introduce healthy eating habits to children?
