It's tough handling melt-downs, especially when there's cheese involved! (Can't blame the kids too much for that one!) It's a delicate balance between wanting to give my child an enjoyable break while also needing some downtime to relax and catch up on errands.

One strategy I've found helpful is to plan a mix of indoor and outdoor activities, especially ones that engage his interests and keep him occupied for longer stretches. This holiday, I've got a few craft kits lined up, which he can do independently under my general supervision. That gives me some time to work on my art or run errands, knowing he's constructively entertained. Win-win!
