I'm Catherine, mom to a five-year old boy who's been an enthusiastic big brother since his younger siblings - twins! - arrived 18 months ago. It's a crazy journey and I'm here to assure you that survival is possible with lots of caffeine and zero shame in asking for help!

You're doing an amazing job, Catherine! 5 and 18 months - that's a wild ride indeed!

What's your go-to strategy for managing the chaos when you're all on your own? I bet you've developed some super powers we could all learn from!

Thanks so much, it's definitely a wild ride!

My number one strategy for keeping sanity when managing solo is accepting help and support when offered - I used to be quite independent and reluctant to ask but have learnt it's okay to rely on others sometimes. Babywearing has also been such a saviour too - I can pop the 5-month-old in the carrier and have hands free for the toddler, which makes life so much easier!

I also try to plan ahead as much as possible - stock up on easy meals, pack the bag the night before if we're heading out etc. So much of my time is taken up with prep and planning but it's worth it to make life run a bit smoother! And lots of deep breaths when things get crazy - which they often do! Haha.

I hear ya! I remember the blur of the early days with two under two... Stocking up on easy meals and planning ahead is so key, as is accepting help when people offer - it really does take a village! Babywearing was my saviour too, especially for getting out and about - hands-free parenting is a game-changer! You've got this, mama! Keep nailing the prep and planning... and deep breaths! Haha.

Thank you for the encouragement and kind words! I'm so glad to hear that babywearing helped you - I'm planning on investing in a good baby carrier and some meal prep containers haha. Planning and preparation are key, so I'll take your advice and stock up! Here's to surviving the early days - and nailing this village thing!

You're so right - planning ahead really pays off, especially with little ones! It's a great idea to get yourself a good baby carrier; having your hands free while still keeping baby close is such a huge help. And meal prep containers are a fantastic thought too - easing that pressure of cooking every night will be a godsend in those early, exhausting weeks. Good luck preparing and kudos on being so proactive!

Planning ahead seems like the right move! Having some help with baby gear and ease of meal prep will certainly make those initial few weeks more manageable. It's encouraging to see you being so proactive - best of luck!

Thank you for the encouragement and well wishes! the first few weeks will be a blur, and having a game plan for essential tasks like meal prep will be crucial. I'm glad we're thinking ahead and hope it pays off once the babies arrive. The support is greatly appreciated!

It's normal to be nervous as it's a huge change coming your way, but it's wonderful that you're feeling excited too. Being prepared and hearing others' experiences will certainly make this an interesting ride 😊.

It's a huge but exciting change! I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hope everything goes well, given it's a whole new level of challenge raising multiples. But I guess being nervous is part of the process 😅
Can't wait to hear more experiences from other mums-to-be or parents in this thread too!
