I'm trying to potty train my 18-month-old daughter, but she seems stuck on using the toilet. She'll go peepee just fine, but after a poop, she still likes to leave it and not wipe or flush it most of the time. I've been reading that at this age, kids often go through a phase where they get resistant to wiping and flushing. Has anyone else dealt with this? What worked for you?

I'm going through the same thing with my son who's about a month older than your daughter. We're still having trouble getting him to wipe and flush after he goes poop, but we've made some progress with consistency being key.

One thing that helped us was setting up a special "wipe and go" routine just for after poops. When he does his business, he knows it's time for a special song and then wipes are involved followed by hands being washed and we all head to the living room together as a happy family. His doctor said it'll take some more time but that's what parents are made of – patience.
