Before posting any games or activities, it's good to remember why we're doing this: creating experiences with our toddlers has immense value beyond just having fun together (as wonderful as that is!). Play is the primary way toddlers learn and explore their world. With every new activity they extend their understanding, develop new skills, and learn to engage with the world around them.
Each game you introduce to your toddler can help develop specific learning skills - whether it's gross motor skills, cognitive abilities or emotional intelligence. And of course, these years are prime time for bonding! We're laying the foundation for our relationship with our little ones - through play we show our love, patience and dedication.
So what activities really embody the concept of 'playing with purpose'? What games or experiences have you introduced that secretly (or not so secretly!) worked on specific learning skills? Let's share ideas for meaningful, intentional play!
