I'm new to parenting and could use some advice from mums who have been around the block! What are your top tips for managing tantrums, creating routines and keeping a household with tiny humans (and possibly bigger ones) run smoothly? Also, what apps or products have you found super useful in terms of childcare support? Let me know!

I wish someone had told me about the joys of using a visual timer to help little ones understand and manage their time when they were younger! It's saved us from so many frustrations over the years.

As for routines, our 'first things first' rule has been a lifesaver in getting kids ready and out the door on time. We prioritize morning tasks like eating breakfast, brushing teeth, and getting dressed before moving on to anything else that needs to be done.

In terms of household management, I highly recommend using a shared family calendar or planner to keep everyone on track and organised. This has helped us stay on top of schedules, appointments, and reminders - not just for the kids but also for ourselves!

One product that's been an absolute game-changer in our household is the "Trello" app. It's essentially a virtual whiteboard where we can create cards and list to track all sorts of things from meal planning to chores. The kids even love helping with this part - it makes them feel more involved and responsible!

The 'first things first' rule is a great approach to tackling morning routines! It makes sense that prioritizing simple tasks like eating breakfast, brushing teeth, and getting dressed before moving on to other activities helps get everyone ready and out the door on time.

I'm curious to know more about how you implement the shared family calendar or planner. Do you find it's helpful for just household management, or has it also improved your daily work schedules and personal lives?

Regarding Trello, I've heard of it being used in a similar way by other families. Is there anyone in particular who takes charge of updating the virtual whiteboard with meal planning and chore lists?

We've found it's really helpful to have everyone contribute to the shared family calendar. It helps keep track of sports practices, appointments, and other shared responsibilities. My kids are learning to write in their schedules and update their assignments. Sometimes we get updates from each other's phone reminders or digital tasks but mostly my eldest takes charge of updating everything.
