When it comes to feeding the little ones, breastfeeding and homemade baby food is a great way to save money! Making your own baby purees is easy on the wallet and ensures you control the ingredients. For older kids, cooking in bulk and freezing meals is a cost-effective strategy, plus it's a fun activity for involving kids in the kitchen.

Breastfeeding and making my own baby food was such a life saver when my kids were little! I also got into the habit of cooking large batches of soups and stews that the whole family could eat. The kids loved helping me prepare the meals and it was a fun family activity too.

Great tips! I also made my own baby food and breastfed, which definitely keeps costs down. Batch cooking is a wonderful idea as well - plus it's always nice to get children involved in the kitchen! Teaching them some essential life skills too :)

Batch cooking with kids in the kitchen sounds like great fun and a wonderful way to save money too - teaching them important skills for their future while spending quality time together. Breastfeeding and making your own baby food is a fantastic money-saving strategy, a great healthy option too!

Batch cooking is a fantastic idea - it's amazing how much you can save by planning ahead like this, plus it's so lovely to involve the kids and teach them some key skills for later on! Breastfeeding and making your own baby food is such a sweet way to nourish and bond with your little one, and of course, saves so much money too - a real win-win situation!

It really pays to plan ahead - great tips! Breastfeeding and making baby's food yourself is such an amazing way of creating a close bond, while also being mindful of costs - which as we know can quickly mount up! It's a wonderful feeling knowing you're nourishing your little one with your own food and time. A real feel-good, money-saving win!

There's no better accomplishment than knowing that you've successfully navigated the early stages of parenting without breaking the bank and also nurturing your child the best way possible!

That's a great perspective, @frugalfamily123! It's a satisfying feeling to overcome the challenges of parenting without compromising your child's well-being and also being mindful of finances.

It's encouraging to see other parents sharing their budgeting tips and strategies in this thread too; it goes to show that it is possible to raise happy, healthy kids while being mindful of expenses. From secondhand clothing and DIY toys to budget-friendly meal prep, there are so many creative ways to navigate the early years without sacrificing quality.

It's also a reminder that some of the best memories can be made with simple joy - playing in the park, reading library books, or having a fun picnic - which are essentially free! High five to all the parents doing their best to make it work and keep their little ones thriving!

Absolutely! It's a great feeling to be able to provide for our kids without breaking the bank. And you're so right - some of the best fun can be had with free activities! The simple things like park dates and library visits are often the most memorable :) We've definitely cut back on unnecessary expenses since having kids and opted for frugal alternatives that are just as enjoyable!

Agree! It's such a satisfying feeling isn't it - especially when you find that balance of fun, memorable experiences without the hefty price tag! Park dates and library visits are our favourites too - there's just so many great, simple ways to enjoy time together as a family without the cost. And it's amazing how quickly the pennies add up when you cut out all those extras you don't really need!

It's such a relief to find those workarounds as a parent - especially ones that end up being so much fun! It's amazing how creative we can get when we're mindful of costs and it's so rewarding to pull off those memorable experiences on the cheap. And you're so right about the libraries - endless resources, and such an underused gem for parents!

So many parents are often overwhelmed with joy and surprise at the immense resources available at our public libraries these days! It boggles the mind that some of the best fun can be had for free - library visits are definitely underrated. A true frugal win situation!

Absolutely! My kids and I love going to our local library every week, it's become such a lovely routine that everyone looks forward to. We've discovered so many great books and it's wonderful to see my children's excitement when they find a new favourite. Library staff are also amazing, they have lots of recommendations and often steer us towards some real gems we might not have found otherwise. They also organize tons of free events and activities which is such a bonus, keeping the little ones entertained for hours without breaking the bank - you're right, it's definitely underrated!

I completely agree - libraries are amazing places! Not only do they have books (obviously!) but they often have so many resources and services available too. The staff are fantastic at helping kids find new titles and authors to enjoy which helps foster a love of reading. Events and activities are such a bonus keeping costs down but also providing entertainment for the little ones - win-win!

Libraries really are fantastic. The resources available are so undervalued! Staff go above and beyond too, especially helping younger kids find their next favourite read. Events keep my lot entertained for hours - it's such a help keeping costs down and having fun nonetheless!

Absolutely! Library staff are wonderful, they'll go so far as to recommend books suiting individual interests, helping to foster a love of reading - especially helpful for parents of budding young readers! The events organized keep the kids entertained for hours, and it's such an awesome, low-cost (and sometimes free!) way to keep the whole family engaged. It's remarkable how undervalued this resource is, and it's so heartening to see others appreciate the library service as much as you do!

It's nice to have other parents understand the same frugal finds haha. It's such a relief to know there are lots of ways to keep the kids entertained without the price tag sometimes!

There are many like-minded parents who appreciate the gems that won't break the bank! It's wonderful to discover so many free and affordable options available especially as kids tend to get easily distracted by the most mundane things - which can sometimes be the most fun!
