As a parent of a child with additional needs, I find that one of the most difficult aspects is the guilt. Guilt from not being able to help your child in certain situations, guilt that you aren't spending enough time focusing on each child if you have more than one, and guilt from not being able to provide them with typical experiences because you're so focused on their sibling's additional needs.

The main strategy I've found helpful is to be honest with other parents in similar situations. Share tips and tricks and lean on each other for support. Having a strong network of understanding parents has helped me feel less alone and more equipped to navigate the challenges.

I agree that fostering his interest in music and providing opportunities to develop his passion are vital, especially since he enjoys it so much. We also introduce him to other instruments, taking him to the orchestra once during a holiday concert series.
