Share your hardest moments and your proudest ones here! Being a special needs parent can certainly bring both kinds of moments, sometimes within the same day (or hour!).
It's an encouraging and supportive space, so don't hold back on the challenges; we're parents who understand each other here and celebrate every victory, no matter how small! It's amazing what our kids accomplish every day, and as parents, we should be proud of the strength and perseverance we bring to our families as well.
I'll go first - I have three nonverbal children on the autism spectrum. My biggest challenge right now is managing their different appointments - therapies, evaluations, and specialist visits. It's like a full-time job! But my victory moment came last week when I finally got an organizational system down - a color-coded binder with a calendar and notes on each kid's progress. I felt so relieved to have a better handle on things and not forget any appointments! Now remind me, did anyone ever tell you that you're doing a fantastic job? Because you are!
