Parental Guidance Needed

Just got back into town after being away with my boyfriend (who I've been dating for about 6 months) and I'm finding it hard to juggle things at home with him around. Our one-year-old daughter seems to be getting on his nerves and he's starting to take more control of looking after her, which feels really uncomfortable for me as her mum.

Do any other mums out there have experience with BF's stepping into parenting? Should I just 'let go' and let him take the reins or is it something I should speak up about? Help!
