A key aspect for me has been adjusting my mindset - accepting that "balance" doesn't mean that work and family are always equals, but rather recognizing that seasons of life will shift the emphasis between the two. Sometimes work demands more, and sometimes family needs more attention.

I try to be intentional about setting clear goals and prioritizing according to what stage of life I'm in. Setting clear boundaries around work hours and being present mentally during family time helps a lot. Also, keeping an organized calendar with buffer time between commitments has been a savior!

What are other people's experiences with finding this delicate balance or managing the guilt when one takes a backseat?

A mindset shift that has helped me is knowing that "balance" doesn't have to mean equal emphasis on work and family at all times. Some seasons will require more focus on work, while others will demand more from our personal lives.

I find that giving myself grace, accepting that I can't always be in control, and delegating some tasks go a long way in navigating this delicate tightrope. Also, keeping an open dialogue with my partner helps alleviate any guilt that might arise when one area gets more attention.

It's an ongoing journey, and I'm sure others have great insights too! Would love to hear about strategies folks use to manage this aspect of life.

That's a helpful way of looking at it - accepting the ebb and flow of life and prioritising accordingly.

I also find grace important, for myself and others around me. We're all doing our best, and sometimes work or personal responsibilities surge unexpectedly. Being understanding and flexible makes things a lot easier, as does open communication with colleagues and family.

It's great to acknowledge these challenges and support one another with strategies - it's definitely an ongoing and often evolving journey!
