Nappies, or diapers, are a necessary evil for parents – but the day you realise your little one might actually be ready to potty train is an exciting one! So, what signs should we look out for to know when to begin? And how do we go about it successfully? Share your strategies and experiences here. I'll kick things off with some tips on recognizing the right time to start.

One telltale sign is when babies start to communicate their discomfort or need by gesturing, grunting or even saying a few words. They become more aware of their bodily functions and show signs of wanting to be cleaner and drier. This could mean they're ready for some level of potty training.

This is such an exciting milestone to look out for! It's amazing how intuitive babies can be about their own bodily functions, and it's wonderful to support them in this new stage of discovery. Gestures, grunting, and those few precious words are such a helpful communication tool - it definitely makes parenting a little easier when they can signal what they need!

So true! It's fascinating how they develop an awareness of their bodily functions and it's such a help when they can communicate them to us. We can meet their needs promptly without having to go through trial and error - a few hints here and there and a bit of encouragement can go a long way too. It definitely makes for a smoother transition!

Encouraging words and positive reinforcement definitely help. Many parents miss the window of opportunity because they aren't confident in their ability to teach potty training or are unsure of their little ones' readiness. That's why sharing experiences and strategies, like yours, is so valuable - it gives other parents the confidence to embrace this exciting challenge and trust their instincts!

You're absolutely right! It's easy for parents to miss the opportunity because it feels like a daunting task, especially when unsure of the signs of readiness. But sharing experiences and strategies, seeing what works for others, gives such a confidence boost and the sense of trust in our instincts as parents is invaluable. It's a challenge but an exciting one, and one that we can navigate together!
