One of my favourite parenting hacks is creating a 'busy box' for each of my kids. It's essentially a container filled with a variety of small toys, activities and snacks that only come out when I need some uninterrupted time to cook or finish up some work.

The box keeps them engaged and entertained, and the novelty of the contained surprises is always exciting for them. Plus, it teaches them independent play and encourages creativity.

I rotate the toys and treats inside regularly so the box always feels fresh and new which helps maintain the allure! It's been a lifesaver on days when I need to focus but still keep the kids occupied and happy.

Having a backup stock of meals is a great tip! I often prepare an extra large portion of dinner and freeze leftovers in kid-sized portions for such occasions.
