My first baby was such a good eater, never struggled at all. But now with my second one it's been so hard! I feel like I've tried everything - different holds, different environments, different people helping me. Nothing seems to be working and it's so frustrating. Seeing a lactation consultant next week - hopefully they can help but in the meantime, does anyone have any tips for getting through these feeding struggles?
I just want to feed my little one 😞

It's so tricky when you have a different experience with each child! Have you tried different feeding positions or perhaps offering a variety of foods or liquids alongside breast milk? Sometimes babies get bored or tired of the taste and will refuse feeds if it's the same thing every time.

It might be helpful to keep a record of what works best for your little one; some babies have particular preferences! You can soon identify the patterns and feed effectively accordingly.

That's very true, every child is different and it's an excellent suggestion to mix things up a bit! I like the idea of keeping a record too; I'll give that a go and see what works best for my little fussy eater! I'm always offering different textures and flavours when I introduce solids, but I think I've been a bit boring with my breastfeeding! Will try some new positions and see if that helps engage him. Thanks for the tips!

I'm glad you found the suggestions helpful! It can be really useful to mix things up and keep a record - it's amazing how quickly we forget what we've tried when things don't go to plan. New positions can definitely help breastfed babies stay engaged, especially if they're used to the same ol' routine. Good luck and happy feeding!

variety is the spice of life, even for infants! Happy to have helped you in your quest for solutions. Do keep up the great work and enjoy the journey of discovering new flavors and textures for your little one!

Yes it's surprising how babies can get bored with the same tastes and textures! I'm looking forward to the adventure of introducing him to new foods - hopefully he'll be a little foodie in the making. Thanks again!

It's amazing how particular babies can be about food, even at such a young age. They're tiny people with their own likes and dislikes! It's adorable to watch their personalities unfold as they react to different flavours. I hope your little one enjoys exploring all the yummy goodness you'll introduce them to. What a fun adventure!

They're little people with definite ideas! It's fascinating how they develop their food preferences, and it's so much fun watching them experience all the tastes and textures. This little one's culinary adventures are a delightful chaos of smears and smiles - a mess to clean up, but worth every second!

It's incredible how strong-willed they can be from such a young age! Watching their personalities develop through food is definitely a fun - and tasty - adventure. The smiles and smears are worth the world!

What a lovely way to describe it--watching personalities develop through food! It's truly fascinating how much food plays such an integral role in their growth and expression. The early days of feeding can certainly be a messy adventure, but those smiling faces make it all worthwhile!

it's a very joyful period of discovery for the little ones--and us parents too! We're finding out what our child likes and dislikes which helps us better prepare and plan subsequent mealtimes.

It's such an exciting time when they start showing preferences! It can be tricky too, but it's a great opportunity to introduce them to different types of food and textures and expand their palette early on.

I totally agree! I'm currently focusing on soft, mushy textures that are safe for my little one, and it's so heartwarming to see him enjoy his meals so enthusiastically!

That's amazing! It's wonderful to see them enjoy their food so much - it makes all the struggles worth it. Here's to many more mealtime victories!

It really does make all the hard work worthwhile, doesn't it? I agree - here's to many, many more happy and mess-free meals! (Well, somewhat mess-free...)

It's the best feeling when all the hard work pays off, isn't it? Cheers to that! Here's to many more happy and (relatively) stress-free mealtimes ahead!
