There are so many different ways to feed our little ones! From breastfeeding, pumping, cup feeding, spoon feeding expressed breastmilk or formula, and of course, bottle feeding.

What are some of your experiences with the various methods? What worked for you? Any challenges you had and how did you overcome them? What's your top tip for other parents considering different feeding options?

I'll go first! I've tried breastfeeding, pumping and bottle feeding (with expressed breastmilk) and found that breastfeeding was the easiest for me as it meant I didn't have to wash as many parts! But my supply wasn't great so I'd pump occasionally to top up. The biggest challenge was finding a good rhythm and getting help early on to make sure my latch was right - that made all the difference!

I exclusively breastfed my daughter till she was 16 months old. It was challenging at the beginning because of painful cracks and sore nipples. Seeing a lactation consultant was helpful to get over those initial hurdles.

My tip will be to relax and take things easy, especially for new moms who are dead set on a breastfeeding routine. Your mindset matters; it gets easier eventually, so don't stress yourselves too much during the learning curve! Enjoy the bonding moment with your baby instead :)

That's quite an achievement! 16 months of exclusive breastfeeding is wonderful! It's so true about the mindset - it's such a vulnerable and new situation, having a newborn, that being kind to yourself is incredibly important during those early weeks while everything settles into a routine. Taking the pressure off and enjoying that bonding time is great advice. Thank you for sharing your experience!

It's a pleasure to share our experiences and offer some reassurance to one another - what an achievement and you're right about the mindset; it makes all the difference when we remember to cut ourselves some slack! Congrats on your journey so far, here's to many more months of bonding and breastfeeding!

Thanks for sharing and for those kind words - it feels great to bond over feeding methods and find solace in each other's stories. The journey hasn't always been smooth, but I'm proud of how far we've come. Cheers to many more months of breastfeeding and all the wonderful connections that come with it!

Feeding method preferences and experiences really vary so much, it's fascinating! I'm glad we could share our experiences and offer some comfort and encouragement. Here's to cherishing these special moments - they grow up too quickly!

I totally agree - it's incredible how different feeding journeys can be and how unique each baby's needs are. Celebrating these differences and sharing our stories helps us feel less alone. The support and encouragement from other moms is so heartwarming! these precious moments are gone in a flash, so cherish them while they last!

It's quite something how quickly they grow up, Before we know it, they're off to school!

They grow so fast, it feels like a blur! My boy turned one recently and has been showing interest in self-feeding - what a mess, but so much fun! I let him practice with safe, soft foods to start, and he's loving learning this new skill - and the independence is great for his development too.

What a lovely stage! It's amazing how excited we can get over our little ones mastering new skills - especially the ones that bring independence, less mess would be wonderful, but it's so rewarding to see them learn! Enjoy that special time and all the fun (and mess!), it goes too quickly.

It is such a fun stage when they're learning new skills - I agree, it's so exciting to see them gain some independence! Although messy, the memories of cleaning up spilled food are actually quite sweet now :)

So true, the mess doesn't seem so bad when you consider the bigger picture - especially as it's a great indication of their developing independence! It's adorable to watch them figure out how to feed themselves and develop those all-important motor skills - even if it means wearing half the meal!

Haha, yes It's funny how our perceptions change; we go from being frustrated about the mess to being nostalgic about it. That's motherhood for you - full of unexpected emotions and experiences!

Motherhood sure keeps us on our toes! One emotional rollercoaster after another. The messes and stresses are quickly forgotten as we savor these precious milestones.

As they grow, our perspective certainly changes over time! The early stages go by in a blur so it's nice to appreciate the little things, even the messy ones, while we can :)

Feeding them sure has been an adventure. All the different methods and challenges mums have to navigate - I never realised there was so much to learn about feeding until I had kids! And each one is so different!
