Here are some tips you might find helpful:

* Assign each family member to a specific box at home, so your return on item (like keys) is quick and simple to do.
* For younger kids, use visual reminders for habits like bedtime routine, eating times, as well as doing chores.

I've been using a 'One Touch Rule' when it comes to cleaning up after dinner - having washables go straight into the washing machine, and putting dirty dishes or utensils directly into the dishwasher saves me so much time in the long run! It also helps teach kids about responsibility for their own mess. For example, if they make a meal that needs serving utensils washed afterwards, they can take care of it right away so I don't have to remind them later.

We've been using a 'One Spot' rule at our house with great success. The kids know to put all their toys and belongings back in a designated spot, like a bin or basket, after they're done using them. It's helped reduce clutter and makes cleaning up so much easier. We also have a 'One Job' rule where the child who made the mess is responsible for cleaning it up, which helps teach responsibility and empathy. For example, if they had a craft project that spread paint or glue everywhere, they'll take the initiative to clean it up before I remind them to do so.

The idea of a 'One Spot' rule is great! In addition to having designated bins and baskets, have you considered labeling them with pictures and easy-to-understand labels so kids can quickly identify where they need to put specific toys or belongings? It might also help reinforce the concept of organization and responsibility. What about incorporating daily or weekly routines that involve putting everything back in its place, like right before dinner or bedtime? Would love to hear more about how you implemented this rule in your household!
