I'm interested in learning more about effective discipline strategies that actually work. I've tried various approaches in the past, but some have had unintended consequences or simply haven't been very effective.

What I've found particularly challenging is finding a balance between setting clear expectations and expectations being so rigid that they're overly restrictive. Any tips on how to establish healthy boundaries while still allowing for flexibility would be greatly appreciated.

3. Offer Choices: Allow your child to feel more in control by giving them choices with limitations that still allow you to maintain order. For example, "Do you want to put away the toys now or after we finish dinner?"
4. Focus on Behavior, Not Character: Avoid general statements that imply a negative character trait when your child misbehaves. Instead focus on the behavior and how it impacted everyone involved, e.g., "I don't like seeing toys scattered all over the room when I told you to clean up."
