My most distinct memory of a milestone moment was when my son took his first steps. He was a very determined little fellow and tottered right over to me and I could just about see the cogs turning as he assessed whether this walking thing was going to work for him. He beamed this huge, proud smile when he realised he'd done it and I swear his whole demeanor changed - he stood a little taller and looked at me like he'd conquered the world!

It's a moment I'll never forget because it really felt like such a profound change - my tiny baby was becoming a proper little person. It's amazing how these milestones sneak up on you and then, all of a sudden, they're here and the kids are growing up right before your eyes!
