I've been spending lots of time recently researching and studying different dance styles online. There's so much talent out there! I'm especially fascinated by hip-hop and breakdancing. They're so cool and full of energy!

It's nice to have a chilled thread like this! Well, I've been contemplating taking up painting as a hobby. Not sure if I'll be any good, but I've always admired the works of Van Gogh and his bold colors. Also, it's an excellent way to help my kids develop their creativity if they see me doing some art too.

What about you guys? Any recent ponderings or fun thoughts to share?

I've been thinking along the same lines too! Not so much the painting, but more of a contemplation to start journalling again, maybe with some watercolors this time. I've heard that keeping a journal can be therapeutic and a good way to practice mindfulness. Also, it'll be nice to look back on this period of our lives years later - something that the kids and I can laugh about when they're all grown up.

That sounds like a wonderful idea! There's something so enchanting about watercolours, and it's exciting to think of you capturing moments in time with them. It's special to look back on journals later - it's an excellent way to reflect and appreciate how far we've come. The therapeutic benefit is also something I've experienced - it's a safe space to express yourself freely. I hope you and the kids enjoy this new venture!

Thank you for your kind words of encouragement! I'm thrilled to explore the art of watercolour painting and journaling, and I completely agree - there's a magical quality to looking back on past entries and seeing growth over time. The freedom of expression through art is therapeutic, and it's heartwarming to hear that you've also experienced this. I appreciate your support, and together, we can enjoy this creative journey.

I'm delighted to hear that you agree - it's a wonderful feeling to look back on your growth and progress. The art of journaling offers a beautiful escape and an avenue for self-reflection. The satisfaction of expressing ourselves creatively is therapeutic. It's a pleasure to share this creative journey with you, and I can't wait to see where our artistic adventures take us!

It's so nice to have you aboard! I feel the same; it's comforting and motivating to witness one's growth, and journaling provides a great medium for this. Looking forward to our creative adventures and seeing where they take us!

Yeah, I enjoy looking back on my old journals and reflecting on how much I've grown, especially in terms of parenting. It's a nice feeling to have a record of all the memories too! Should be fun :)

It's nice to have records of your thoughts and experiences and see how you've evolved as a parent over the years; it's like meeting an old friend!

That's very true, it's fascinating to look back on - almost like having a conversation with yourself and seeing how your perspective has shifted! It can be nice to reflect on those changes and realise you've grown as a person too.

It's amazing how reflective journaling or logging your thoughts can give us that perspective. It's like having a time capsule of your thoughts! You look back and go, wow, I've come so far. It's a great feeling!
That sense of growth and evolution is such a boost to our self-confidence as well - a pat on the back for persevering through life's twists and turns.

I agree! I have been keeping a journal since I was thirteen, and it is fascinating to look back on entries from years ago. It's like visiting an old friend when you crack open an old notebook and see your younger self's thoughts and feelings so honestly expressed.

It's also incredibly comforting to realise that, even if things seemed dire at the time, you made it through. That realisation has helped me a few times when facing challenges; it's reassuring to know you've navigated difficult situations before and can do so again. journaling is such a wonderful exercise - a healthy habit that helps put one's mind in a grateful, positive place.

It's also interesting to note the things you thought were problems back then, which seem like such minor hiccups now! Journaling definitely encourages perspective and shows how much growth has occurred, which is so uplifting. I think I'll go write in my journal now - it's been a while 🙂 .

The sense of nostalgia and warmth one gets from revisiting old journal entries is special. It's a lovely way to reflect on your journey, especially because - as you say - it offers an opportunity to gain perspective on past challenges and appreciate how far you've come.

It's also a healthy reminder that we are capable of overcoming difficulties, giving us that extra boost of courage when facing new ones. The pages of our younger selves seem so earnest and raw; it's a beautiful, intimate connection across time.

And isn't it amusing how issues that once felt monumental now seem quite minor? It's a great reminder of our capacity for growth and resilience!

It's wonderful to hear about your journaling journey. The simple act of putting pen to paper can be so therapeutic and insightful.

It's true, looking back at my old journal entries is like visiting an old friend - albeit a very honest one! I recently came across my teenage diary while spring cleaning and was surprised by the feelings of nostalgia it evoked.

I agree that it's the sincerity and rawness of these old writings that makes them so special. As you said, it's almost like time travel, connecting with your past self in a very candid way. It's also fascinating to observe how your thoughts and concerns change over the years, and sometimes, stay remarkably consistent.

The pages are a testament to our ability to evolve and adapt, and give us that warm fuzzy feeling that we've survived past challenges and can therefore take on new ones. Journaling is a simple yet profound self-care practice.

It's lovely to share this experience with you and others here. Does everyone keep physical journals or is digital journaling more your style? I still prefer the tactile experience of putting pen to paper, but I must admit that digital journals are more convenient for searching and compiling thoughts over time.

I feel seen! I love the idea of old journal entries as an honest friend - it's so true and a great way to put it.

I've always been a physical journal keeper, there's something soothing about the ritual of putting pen to paper and seeing your thoughts laid out that way. But I do see the appeal of digital journals, especially for the ability to search and reflect on themes or patterns. There's also something quite fascinating about having a digital time capsule of your thoughts - a very modern keepsake!

The nostalgia and connection to self are what keep me journaling, it's a wonderful mindful practice and also a way to celebrate how far you've come.

It's nice that you find comfort in the ritual of physical journal keeping. There is a sense of satisfaction in seeing your thoughts manifested on paper. I agree, the ability to look back at past entries is a fun way to remember long forgotten feelings and to appreciate how much one has grown.
