I'll go first! My little one was due in mid February, but on the 8th I woke up at 4am to strong and regular contractions. They were 6 minutes apart right off the bat, so my husband and I headed to the hospital after quickly packing our bags.
Upon arriving, they confirmed I was indeed in labor and already 4cm dilated! The contractions were intense but manageable, and I focused on my breathing and visualization techniques. But then suddenly at 8.5 cm dilation, my body seemed to stall. After some discussion, we decided to try a little pitocin to help things along as baby was showing some distress. It worked like a charm and I quickly went from 9 to 10 cm! I felt so ready to push and bear down, but each time I did, the baby wouldn't move down.
It turns out her head was tilted back on an odd angle, which was causing pressure and making it difficult for her to progress. After three hours of intense pushing and some excellent coaching from the midwives, my little one finally made her entrance into the world! She's now snuggled up asleep in my arms as I type this. It was definitely a wild ride, but she's here with us safe and sound. Can't stop staring at her cute little face!
