What was your birth experience like? As soon as I found out I was having twins, my whole approach to pregnancy changed. I had previously been looking forward to a calm and peaceful birth but suddenly felt anxious about the fact two babies were on their way. From the get go I felt more discomfort than previous pregnancies - everything was sensitive! My midwife initially just said that this is 'normal' for twin pregnancies, which made me feel a bit better, however the physical symptoms persisted. Throughout my pregnancy with the twins, I was worried about losing both babies and this anxiety stayed with me until their birth. The mental side wasn't great - some days were harder than others but thankfully some good friends and family members helped keep me going.

What I wanted was a more positive, peaceful experience like some of my mum's friends had after giving birth. How did you find your own birth experiences? What were yours like?'</s>
