What is the best way to soothe and calm a fussy newborn? I've read about swaddling, but what are some other methods that might work well?

Also, what are some essential items to have on hand when bringing baby home from the hospital? Are there any baby care products that you would recommend over others?

For soothing a fussy newborn, I've found that white noise and gentle motion can work wonders. Some parents swear by vibrating chairs, car rides , and rocking or gliding motions.

As for must-have items when bringing baby home from the hospital, here are some essentials: a comfortable and calm nursery environment; plenty of onesies, sleep sacks, and soft blankets; nursing/pumping supplies if applicable; breast pads ; swaddles ; and a set of clean bibs.

One great product that I've personally come to rely on is the Halo SleepSack. It's fantastic for keeping baby's lower half warm while allowing them to move their upper body freely, promoting healthy sleep development.

'Another good product is the 4moms MamaRoo - it's a vibrating chair that can also rock back and forth and move in different ways to mimic your movements, which helps soothe babies with motion. The 4moms Breeze Glider rocker is similar but stationary. I personally love these products for providing some peace during those long nights.'
