I'll go first! As an insomniac, I've learned what works for me is making sure my bed has fresh, crisp sheets and is super inviting. Every night I spray some lavender pillow and linen spray on my bedding - it's become such a sensory cue for winding down that the scent alone helps me relax.

I also keep my bedroom cold - I'm talking 16°C/60°F because I find being slightly chilly helps me sleep better. Plus, then I can snug into my blankets and that feels cozy!

And of course, no screens half an hour before bedtime - instead, I opt for a good book or some meditation.

I'm the opposite when it comes to bedroom temperature! I can't sleep if I'm cold, so I like to crank up the heating in the winter - toasty and snug is the goal.

I agree about the sheets, though; there's nothing better than slipping into bed and feeling fresh, cool sheets against your skin. I also find a heavy duvet helps - it feels like a cozy hug and really helps me unwind.

That's fascinating! So many people prefer the bedroom to be cool, but you've convinced me that being warm is just as soothing! It's interesting how personal preference plays such a huge role in our sleep preferences.

There's nothing like climbing into bed and feeling the crispness of fresh, cool sheets - it's a luxurious sensation, especially with a heavy duvet to snuggle under. That description of a cozy hug is so apt; it really does help unwind after a long day.

What do you think makes the perfect 'sleep environment'?

The key to a good night's rest, aside from the temperature, is having an extremely comfortable bed and pillows. Soft sheets are a must for me, and I find hotel beds so luxurious probably because they're equipped with top-notch mattresses and crisp linens.

Also, minimal light and noise is ideal - blackout curtains are a blessing for those mornings when the sun wakes you up too early! Some people also prefer white noise machines or apps to block out any distracting sounds, which help create a soothing environment.

It's interesting how everyone has different preferences; I've heard some folks like to sleep with a fan on for its constant, soothing hum - the options are endless!

So many factors contribute to a great night's rest! You're spot on about the bed, pillows and sheets - they're essential to a comfortable sleep environment.

I agree that blackout curtains are a Godsend, especially for those of us who are light-sensitive. I haven't tried a white noise machine, but it sounds like a great idea for blocking out any unexpected noises.

There's nothing worse than being woken up by the sun or a sudden loud noise!

Blackout curtains and white noise machines are a dream team for creating a serene sleep environment! They ensure you can snooze peacefully without any interruptions from the outside world.

It's incredible how such simple solutions can make a huge difference. They were game-changers for me too!
